Perle comes from a cross between Northern Brewer and a German male. Widely grown in Germany, but also in Oregon and Washington, it contains moderate alpha acid levels and a nice flavor profile with herbaceous and spicy notes. Popular among growers for its high yield and good resistance to downy mildew and verticillum, it is vigorous and adaptable in Italy, taking on more important aromatic tones.
